The
Athletics Program is conducted over 5 - 10 weeks. Each session is designed
to be 40 - 60 minutes in duration. TriSkills Australia provides the necessary
equipment and instructor(s). The Program is designed for children Kinder to
upper primary.
The
Athletics Program focus is:
- Gross motor
coordination
- Starting
stance and preparation for specific events
- Running,
throwing and jumping techniques
- Training for
events and competition
- Correct
stretching, warm up and cool down techniques
As a
result of completing the Athletics Program, children will
- Develop
correct running, jumping and throwing skills to suit their body type
- Enjoy learning
athletics skills
- Demonstrate
improved self esteem
- Develop
events and training patterns to suit their own personal fitness needs
- Demonstrate
an improvement in their personal best performances
